Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed shooting down another of the U.S. military’s MQ-9 Reaper drones. They aired footage Saturday of parts that corresponded to known pieces of the unmanned aircraft. The Houthis said they shot down the Predator with a surface-to-air missile. It's part of a renewed series of assaults this week by the rebels after there had been a relative lull in their pressure campaign over the Israel-Hamas war. The Houthis described the downing as happening Thursday over their stronghold in the country’s Saada province.

Cambodia’s prime minister says 20 soldiers have been killed and several others injured in an ammunition explosion at a base in the southwest of the country. Hun Manet said in a Facebook post that he was “deeply shocked” when he received the news of the explosion Saturday afternoon at the base in Kampong Speu province. It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion. Pictures from the scene showed a destroyed building still smoldering, and soldiers receiving treatment in a hospital.

According to the BBC, the British government is considering deploying troops to drive the trucks that will carry aid from the pier along a floating causeway to the shore. A senior U.S. military official said Thursday that there would be no American “boots on the ground” and another nation would provide the personnel to drive the delivery trucks to the shore.
Hamas says it is reviewing a new Israeli proposal for a cease-fire in Gaza, as Egypt intensifies efforts to broker a deal to end the months-long war and stave off a possible Israeli ground offensive into the southern Gaza city of Rafah. The Israeli military has massed dozens of tanks and armored vehicles in southern Israel close to Rafah and hit targets in the city in near-daily airstrikes. Early Saturday, an Israeli airstrike hit a house in Rafah’s Tel Sultan neighborhood, killing six people, including four children, according to officials at a local hospital.
